There are more bloggers than ever since the internet has evolved, some people do not fully understand this new way of content marketing. Being a successful blogger and making money from it requires hard work, comittement and understanding what visitors are looking for.
Great free places to blog
- WordPress. I’m putting the best foot forward here and starting with the great WordPress. …
- Blogger. Blogger is a household name thanks to it being owned by Google. …
- Tumblr. …
- Weebly. …
- Wix. …
I WordPress is free to install, saves time and can be upgraded at anytime. there are thousands of plugins and templates you can use, they have created a simple interface which is very user friendly.
AT one time to create a website you needed to know all about coding however with a wordpress site most of it is done for you, this gives anyone a opportunity to have their own website without having to pay a lot of money to create and manage their website’s.
If you want to build your own site with them you simply have to pay for the domain name, hosting and perhaps for a theme, but there are a lot of free theme’s around to get you started and should you want to change it later it is quite easy to do.
The benefits of having wordpress :
- Goggle does like their websites
- Themes can be changed very quickly without difficulty
- Easy to update
- Great plugins that can extend the functionality of your website without program experience
- Search engine friendly
- Safe and secure
- Can handle different media types
- Good self hosting for bloggers
Another easy to use platform focused on making it simple and easy to share, if your not sharing your own work it will use the orginal author for the credit, which is rightly so, when I share posts from other websites it always has the origin on it.
This micro blogging platform and social sharing networking allows users to share multimedia and other content in a short blog version to other users, you can also follow other members back, if you do not want your blog visable you can make it private.
This is also a popular platform for blogge.and has a network of millions of user-generated, personal web sites. It’s part blogging platform much like WordPress for blogging and part social networking service, providing users the ability to create and post their own original content.
Tumblr is also free to use and also offers paid services should you want to do more with your business as they feature facebook connectivity that will show up in the search engine queries, giving you a online presence that can boost your business.
Tumblr was launched in 2007 so it has been around for awhile, this is a good social media tool and it is easy to setup a account with them.
Another free platform to create content does also offer upgrade to pro version but to be honest the free option will still get the job done, should you want to do more and used pro features you can upgrade later on.
Building a site with Weebly is fairly easy to do it is simply a drag an drop and you can see your website getting built before your eyes, one of the easiest web builders out there.
To create your own blog there you just go to the pages tab, click select page, then blog and your good to go, though I do favour WordPress I would say this is even easier to use. Having the drag and drop feature means you can move stuff around quickly, no code knowledge needed
Should you decide this is not for you, don’t worry deleting your site is very simple, just go to your account and delete it permantly from there.
This is another free place to blog however if you want to have your own website and support you will have to upgrade to one of their packages, if you are happy to be a subdomain then this will suit you, really depends on what you want to achieve.
I have often seen adverts for Wix to create websites, however I do feel there are just as good options out there that are free and can look just as professional.
You can choose for one of there many templates to create the site you want and there is also the option to blog, again it comes down to what you want to achieve, as with many things extra’s comes with a cost.
With Wix you have to choose a package and worry about stuff like bandwidth, whilst there are free options just keep in mind that if you want to take things to a new level there is additional costs
These are only a small number of places you can go to and get your blog up and running, however if you are serious about building a business you are better to create your own website, keeping you content in one place makes it easier to manage having social media sharing on your website means you can share across many platforms very easily.
There has never been so many opportunities to work from home using the internet, putting the time and effort in can change your whole way of working. Personally I prefer WordPress to work with and if you simply just want to get a message out there this would be a good place to get going.
I would suggest you have a look around within each platform to see which one you prefer, afterall we all work differently and what might be easy to me might not be the same for you.
It is the same for learning I am a visual learner so learning modules that are in way of a video presentation works well with me, I have never been that great with written instructions, find what suits you best and stick with it.
